Grand Forks County Fairgrounds Arena

The Grand Forks County Fairgrounds Horse Arena hosts many horse related events throughout the year. The current arena was built over the past 5 or 6 years as a joint project of the Greater Grand Forks Fair and the Red River Valley Horse Show Association. Horse events have been held on the grounds since the Fair moved to this location in 1904. The race track hosted horse racing for many years, and other horse events have been held on the grounds. A local horse club was started more than 50 years ago, and an arena was built in the 1980's. That arena was in need of replacement, so the 2 organizations joined together to build the new facility. The facility includes a full arena, a practice arena, and a storage building/announcer stand. It is located on the west side of the barn, which has 20 box stalls in place through the summer. The facility holds a variety of horse shows, barrel runs, and special events like mounted shooting competitions throught the summer months.
